Science is a subject, through which children learn and explore the world around them. At Kitwell, children are encouraged to ask questions and take part in different types of scientific enquiry in order to form answers and further develop their knowledge of a wide range of topics, as laid out in the Science programmes of study. Where possible links will be made to other areas of the curriculum, in order to further develop the children’s progress.

Children learn to work scientifically through lessons focussed on a single skill which will support the children’s understanding of a topic. At the end of each unit, children will complete a full investigation, allowing teachers to record and  better understand how much the children have learnt and the next steps that should be taken.
