GDPR

Providing accessible information to individuals about the use of personal information (data) is a key element of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and sets a legal framework with which education settings and local authorities must comply.

All education settings and local authorities are data controllers and data processors in their own right and, as such, they have a duty to inform pupils, staff and parents how they process the data that is within their control.

This video visually shows the various tasks and key areas to understand in preparation to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations which will be enforced in May 2018. The video is fun to watch and through graphics tells a vital story of a school's GDPR journey.

The most common way to provide information is through a privacy notice. These privacy notices have been produced by Kitwell Primary School to ensure GDPR compliance.

Parents and Carers will have received these letters to inform them of Kitwell’s GDPR compliance. The Photo and Video Consent letter must be returned.

Kitwell Primary School is producing policies and procedures to ensure GDPR compliance. They are available to download here.
